'Palm Sea Land' by Szilvia Mucsy


Szilvia Mucsy (HU) is a photographer, teacher, chair of the RANDOM – Association of Contemporary Photographers and director of Budapest Photo Festival. She began her photographic career at the Studio of Young Photographers Hungary, where she became a member of the executives for 2 years. After graduating from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design on Photography MA she studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts . She is a member of the Belgian Young Photographers United. Her work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in New York, Athens, Rome, Aix-en-Provence, Budapest, Bratislava, Brussels, Chaves – Portugal, Erlangen, Greifswald – Germany, Tartu – Estonia and many other Hungarian places. She has been awarded the National Geographic Photography Contest Hungary, 2 times by the József Pécsi - Hungarian Fine Art Photography Grant, and she got 5 times the Photographic Art felowship by Hungarian National Cultural Fund. Her book Mediterrano was published by Bohony Publisher, Hungary in 2008. She focuses on documentary, and lyrical documentary captuting urban subjects.
